ASKED & ANSWERED · BEFORE YOU PICK

QUESTIONS,
ANSWERED.

Everything you might want to know before, during, and after you start predicting.

01 · GETTING IN

THE
BASICS.

What is What's Your Pick?

A free social prediction game built for the 2026 international soccer tournament. You make picks before every match, earn points for getting them right, and find out which one of your friends is actually a Pundit.

Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no premium tier. You make picks, your friends make picks, the app scores them. That's the whole product.

Do I need to bet money to play?

No. There's no real money, no virtual currency, no gambling mechanic anywhere in the app. The stakes are whatever your friends agree on — that's what House Rules are for.

Is this gambling?

No. You're not wagering money or anything of monetary value. You're making picks against your friends for bragging rights — and whatever consequences your group decides to attach to a win or a loss.

Will the app work after the tournament ends?

Yes. Your account, your friends, your stats — all of it persists. We'll add more competitions after 2026 so the same crew can keep playing.

02 · MAKING PICKS

THE
CALLS.

How do I make a pick?

It depends on the stage. For the group stage, you pick the two teams you think advance from each group. For knockout matches, you tap into the match and call the winner, a scorer for each side, and how it ends (90', extra time, or pens). Everything saves automatically — there's no "submit" button.

When do picks lock?

At the exact moment the match kicks off. Once the ball is in play, your picks are locked in and can't be changed.

Can I change my pick before kickoff?

Yes — as many times as you want, right up until kickoff. We save the most recent version.

What if I forget to pick before kickoff?

Whatever you had locked in at kickoff time is what counts. If you didn't make any picks for a match, you score zero for that match — no penalty, just a missed opportunity.

I'm in multiple groups. Do I have to make the same picks in each one?

No — and you couldn't even if you wanted to. You have one set of picks per match, period. Those picks are scored once, and the same score shows up on every leaderboard you're on. What changes per group is who you're ranked against and what your House Rules pay out.

What if I want to make different picks for different groups?

That's not how the game works. The whole point is you have one opinion about FRA vs GER, and that opinion plays out across all your friend circles. Think of it like a tournament bracket — you fill out one bracket, and it competes in every pool you're in.

Where do I see everything I need to pick?

The Predict tab is home base. That's where you'll find your group-stage "who advances" picks, your tournament calls, and a card for each knockout match as the bracket fills in.

03 · POINTS

HOW IT
SCORES.

How do points work?

Each knockout match is worth up to +9 across its core calls — winner (+3), a goalscorer for each side (+2 each), and how it ends (+2) — with an optional red-card call on top (+5, or −3 if you call it wrong). Group-stage picks score +2 for every team you correctly call to advance, plus +1 for the exact order. And your two tournament calls — the champion and the Top Scorer — are worth +10 each and settle at the end of the tournament.

What counts as a "sweep"?

Getting all four core calls right on a single knockout match — winner, both goalscorers, and how it ends — without blowing a red-card call. Sweep one and you get crowned the Pundit for that matchday, plus whatever your House Rules say sweepers earn.

What if no one scores in the match?

If you picked a goalscorer and no one from that team scored, that pick doesn't land. The other calls (winner, decided by) still score normally.

Do tournament picks lock when the tournament starts?

Yes. Once the first match of the tournament kicks off, all tournament-level picks are locked. You can't change your Tournament Winner pick once the ball's rolling.

When do I see how I scored?

Right after the match finishes. Picks are graded once the final whistle blows and the result is in — then your points and your verdict appear, and the leaderboard updates. You won't see points tick up live during play.

04 · CREWS

THE
GROUPS.

How do I create a group?

Tap + Create group on the home screen. Name it, set your House Rules, and share the invite code with your friends. Done.

How do I join a friend's group?

Tap Join with code and enter the code they shared. You're in.

How many people can be in a group?

No hard limit, but groups feel best around 4–12 people. Big enough for banter, small enough that everyone matters.

Can I be in more than one group?

Yes — join as many as you want. The Office Crew, your college friends, your Sunday League — they're all separate leaderboards using your same picks.

Who can change the group's House Rules?

The person who created the group. They set the House Rules when the group is made and can update them anytime.

Can I leave a group?

Yes. Your picks stay in the system — you just stop appearing on that group's leaderboard.

What if someone in my group is being a problem?

Use Report a problem in Settings to flag anything serious, and we'll look into it.

Are groups private?

Yes. Groups are invite-only — no public discovery, no strangers finding you. The only way in is the invite code.

05 · THE CROWN

THE
PUNDIT.

What's the Pundit?

The friend in your group with the most points. The crown is shown next to their name on the leaderboard, and your House Rules might attach extra perks (or extra teasing) to wearing it.

When does someone become the Pundit?

Two ways: per-match (whoever sweeps gets the crown for that matchday) and per-tournament (whoever has the most points at the end of the tournament gets crowned for the whole tournament).

What if there's a tie?

If two players are level on points, the tie breaks on the clear stuff: most sweeps first, then who's been more accurate. So there's always a single leader wearing the crown — no shared crowns, no coin flips.

Does the Pundit get anything in the app?

A badge on their profile, a crown icon next to their name, and bragging rights. Whatever else they get is up to your group's House Rules.

06 · STAKES

HOUSE
RULES.

What are House Rules?

The real-life stakes your group attaches to winning and losing. Buy the Pundit a coffee. Make the day's worst predictor sing karaoke. Send a friend a cringe selfie. Your group decides, the app surfaces who owes what.

Who sets the House Rules?

The group creator sets them up when creating the group, and can edit them anytime.

Does the app enforce the rules?

No — we're not coming to your house with a karaoke mic. The app surfaces who swept and who busted after each match. It's on your group to actually follow through. (That's most of the fun.)

How long does a clown badge stick around?

A bad matchday earns a clown badge that clears on its own after a couple of days — or sweep your next match to wipe it early. The House Rules themselves run on the honor system, between you and your friends.

07 · BIG CALLS

TOURNAMENT
CALLS.

What are tournament calls?

Two big-picture picks you make before the tournament starts: who lifts the trophy and who finishes as top scorer. They lock at first kickoff and score at the end of the tournament. (Calling who advances from each group is separate — that's part of your group-stage picks.)

Are tournament calls required?

No, they're optional. But at +10 each they're worth a lot — players who skip them give up a real edge.

Can I update my tournament calls after the tournament starts?

No. Tournament calls lock at the exact moment the first match kicks off. Make them count.

What if a team I picked gets knocked out?

That pick is done. You don't get points for it, but it doesn't subtract anything either.
